At first I made this poster for people could download to celebrate the life of the late great John R Lewis but since so many people have ask me about getting a print and didn't want to download. I’ve made the decision to do a limited amount of these prints. John was 80 years old when he passed away so to celebrate his 80 years of life, I’m only doing 80 prints.
I would say I didn’t know John Lewis personally but I’ve had several conversations with him throughout the years about my artwork and the world. My last conversation with John was
him suggesting I do a painting about four particular individuals. I’m not going to elaborate on whom those four individuals are but I haven’t got around to do the painting. When I heard about his passing, the painting he suggested has been the only thing on my mind and that he would never get the chance to see the painting. Maybe one day I will make the time to do the painting and once I do, I will dedicate it to him.
